Answer brown. Semi-sweet, dense, bitter, heady. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, coconut.
UPPER CLASS - STOUT AND PORTER
Closely related styles of dark beer with roots in the British Isles. Part of the malt used in the production is heavily roasted, giving it this dark color. The characteristics of stout and porter are roasted notes, coffee, licorice, and chocolate. Bitterness is usually quite high and hop characteristics are more pronounced in American stouts and porters. Originally, people used the word stout to distinguish a strong porter from a regular porter. Today, it's really up to the brewer whether he calls the beer a stout or a porter.
