My name is Jóhann Norðfjörð(nick name BóBó) I am a retired captain now. I work asa part time gunsmith in my own little garage workshop, where I make the knives as well.

Knives making is just a hobby of mine.  I have been a hunter and a fisher man for over half a century. I have been a fly tying ,fly casting and shooting instructor for some decades. I have been a fishing and hunting guide here in Iceland as well in Greenland for more than 30 years( 14 hunting and fishing seasons in Greenland) Last four seasons (June-October)I have been a hunting and fishing camp manager in Greenland, that included guiding as well In Greenland I was mainly based in Narsarsuaq and Narsaq area. In Narsaq there was a small workshop where two old locals were making knives and carving Tupilaqs (spiritual figure) out of bones and antlers. From them I learned the knives making  and carving. I was at their workshop every night I stayed there as well if I had a day off. They have both past away, so to honour them I labeled my knives with Greenlandic names, Nanoq which means polar bear.

The steel I use I get from a friend of mine in Sweden who's family is in the knives making business. Some of the blades are pre cut in the factory, then I finish them. I also get some of the Damascus in blank Plates, then I cut out my design and make the knives.

That way I am sure I always have the highest quality steel. I also use German Baader steel, which is probably the hardest stainless steel you can get. As I said earlier, knives making is just a hobby of mine so there is a bit of my soul in every knife.

Enjoy your knife my friend( don't forget, it's sharp)

Happy hunting and happy fishing.

Your friend BóBó.
